Welcome!

The Arc of Greater Fall River has been serving citizens of Greater Fall River for over 50 years. Founded in 1956 by concerned parents to provide better lives forÂfamily members with mental retardation. This small but powerful and determined group of parents refused to let their loved ones live in institutions. Together, they developed a support system and lobbied for funding to provide educational and support services. The Arc is determined to continue their mission by maintaining a high standard of excellence with both programs and advocacy.

The Arc’s history is rooted in the commitment and dedication of many families, staff, and the Board of Directors. Then, as now, the Arc continues to offer diverse programming and services that provide the people we serve the enrichments of life they so truly deserve.

The Arc of Greater Fall River serves individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families who live in the Massachusetts cities and towns of Fall River, Somerset, Freetown, Assonet and Westport.
