Our Programs Overview

The heart of the Arc is the compassionate, respectful way that our dedicated employees deliver services.

The Arc’s program provides services and support to persons over the age of 21 years diagnosed with mental retardation and related developmental disabilities. Enrollment into these programs is by the referral of the Department of Mental Retardation.

The Alternative Day Program serves adults in Greater Fall River. Community Directions’ services are for adults who reside at New Bedford Rehabilitation Hospital. Short Orders, our employment and training program is an operational take out sandwich shop.

The goal of these programs is to consistently evolve to ensure quality of life, community inclusion and respect for each person’s rights and dignity.

It is the intention of these programs to strive to nourish each person’s intellectual, emotional, and spiritual needs, thereby, supporting their overall well-being.

An individualized designed support plan (ISP) with specific goals and objectives is developed, with each participant's input, for each person in our programs. Proactive Teamwork among families, advocates, specialists and other service agencies is paramount to ensuring and foster a comprehensive plan for each participant.
